European Solidarity Corps - Social Welfare Home

Social Welfare Home in Gdynia (ID no E10197757) is a place that associates 79 residents in a unique place with garden close to the forest.

Volunteer accompany the residents of the Welfare House in their everyday live.  Mostly supporting work in Occupational Therapy, which using different kind of therapy such as arts and crafts, audio-visual therapy, music therapy, recreational activities, cultural and educational therapy, bibliotherapy, sociotherapy, participation in organizing holidays and celebrations. Volunteers support those activities and thematic groups by e.g. doing handicraft workshop, drawing, painting, sewing workshops, Also is possible to support the rehabilitation of our residents. Volunteers can work in kitchen as a kitchen help, in the garden taking care of flowers, trees, shrubs. All proposals for activities refer to giving support to a professional staff.

Volunteer should start the activity in March 2023 and stay for 6-12 months.

Who can apply?
We especially welcome applicants with a friendly, positive attitude towards work with elderly people, that can bring smile to their face. The volunteer should be patient and have empathy, also be open to contribute with one’s own creativity to support work in Occupational Therapy. Moreover, s/he should like to participate in actions taken by the Welfare House (like celebrating birthday of each inhabitant, Christmas etc.) We would appreaciate a person who is willing to learn basic Polish phrases for easier communication with our residents.
